Install ROCK, in there they have backgrounder, Kiriake, and 3g UNRESTRICTOR for free. Cydia charges for one of those apps, can't remember which.
Backgrounder is to enable multitasking, Kiriake is a super-easy task manager that you need to properly manage the background apps, and 3GU allows me to use apps like Slingbox and the iTunes store without wifi.
