I'm not really new to flashing/cooking, but i still occasionally come across new terms that i'm not familiar with. Is there like a wiki or glossary somewhere where i can look stuff up?

Specifically, im wondering what the deal is with the tachi dialer. Im running juicy 7 with tachi and from what i can tell, all it is is a dialer with a slider. What's so special about that?

i've been searching the forums and everyone talks about these things but no one really explains what they are or what the point of it is.
