Have you tried the TP1 registry edits below- I might give these a shot:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Extension="" Delete the "isext.dll" entry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection="Sprint"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
MaxCMCon=0
EDIT:
The above works for the sprint TP2- HOWEVER the ForceCellConnection change to "Sprint" does not stick after a soft reset- it reverts back to "Phone as a Modem"- Anyone know how to get the registry edit to stick??
