I had the same problem - it turned out that a re-install of the ROM and then making sure I did a HARD reset (reset button plus the two soft keys ) solved the problem. Otherwise the firmware didn't install quite right. ([edit]I should point out that I didn't do this in my installl - if you did do this, the problem probably lies elsewhere[/edit)
Maybe the same thing would work for you?
