I have not had this (or any) issue with the sony HBH-DS980 headphones i use daily. This could be an issue only with the particular model of headset you are using.
Have you looked through the bluetooth settings at all? Perhaps there is something in the advanced configuration that will prevent the message from popping up all the time.
